I was wondering if anyone had any success with this? I am looking at testing my device driver architecture, and I would like to add in a network card, but I am looking for either an example or some documentation, and thought I would make a shout-out to see if anyone had anything. Let me know |

Im sure that if you look for either UDI or EDI Opensource network drivers you should have some success. |

Apparently BOCHS uses the NE2000 network card (oooolldddd technology) so I am going to develop for that first, and then once my Kernel is stable enough I will try booting in VMWare Player and attempt to get it working with the Intel NIC that VMware emulates. Information for the Ne2000 can be found at http://wiki.osdev.org/Ne2000 . Bochs documentation for the "pnic" (pseudo-nic) is located at http://bochs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/to ... index.html |

I also found this at the bottom of the OSDev wiki, really useful: http://www.ethernut.de/pdf/8019asds.pdf, the RTL8019 is one of the PCI-based NE2K compliant cards. |
