Post Mapping all physical memory
http://forum.osdev.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23025

OSDev is forever spewing slander. LoseThos identity maps all physical memory and never touches page tables afterward. It is obviously optimal performance-wise.

Just remember -- for every memory access with paging enabled, there are 4-5 memory accesses because it has to access 3-4 levels of page table memory. We were taught to count memory accesses to tell how fast code is, so you have 1/4 the memory accesses without paging.

How do you like that

Hi,

I hoped I would't have to point this out to you, but this is not a place for having a pissing contest with OSDev.org.

Please refrain from complaining about OSDev.org all the time or do it in general...
