Yeah, I followed that code, until the IDT/IRQ/ISR code refused to work for some reason =/

I wrote my own boot loader as well, I'm just saying I'm not against open source software, that's all.

If I were against open source software I'd find it hard, since I'd need to create my own GCC or use Microsoft's compiler :P

WTF? I do not use grub because it is brain damaged, and switches to protected mode without permission.

Honestly, someone switching to protected mode for you shouldn't be classified as an issue. MULTIBOOT is great - get to know it, get to love it.

Don't get bogged down in fairly uninteresting details like bootloaders and go do the kernel, where all the fun happens!
