 is there a way to determine the cpu architecture in 16bit

Anyway, I have an answer on the CPUID part...CPUID started with the late Intel 486 models and with the Pentium Processor models. Basically if the CPU is running in Virtual-8086 mode, then you can use 16bit code whenever you want.
